MY DAD

MY DAD
To me was a very kind and a very caring father, and gave his love to us all and we will always cherish,That for the rest of our lives, together as a family. He along with my mum brought us up to be loving and kind to people and that was to ourselves and others around us he was there for us when we needed it most in bad times and in good he never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything. He would do anything for anyone and anything he could not he would certainly give it a dam good go he could almost put his hand to anything from mending old televisions to gardening but he would never give up on anything and if there was an old telly or video etc had stopped working he would always say bring it to me and lets take a look before you throw it away. So know i myself will never throw nothing away if it can be mended and that’s one thing that he taught me. Along with many other things that i have never really thanked him for personally but he knew that me doing the jobs he could do and passing them down to me and others in the family I think well i know that brought him joy knowing at least one of us could it and even know when something needs doing I know he is there watching over me at the things i do know and in the future knowing it still makes him happy.

For the past 10 Years or so of my Fathers Life Before he Passed away He was Looked after and Cared for By his Family, We were all there if he Needed anything doing that he Couldn't Do for himself. But even Though He was getting worse Due to His illness he was a very independent person. Sat at his Computer Sorting out the bills, Doing little Projects Either on the Computer or outside in the Garden Planning Where the next Seasons Flowers Are going To go. We were there by his side ready to help with whatever he Needed, From Fetching to Carrying digging. He Always use to give his Orders out If he was Determined With something. But as the years Past and as He Slowly got Worse He would Have His Off days And As he slept Downstairs He would Have A couple of Hours On the Bed To sleep it off. Then when he felt ready to get up Again we would get him up out of Bed and into his Chair. As he enjoyed his Electric Scooter As he Could be Even more Independent Because He could go where He wanted By himself , And He Enjoyed Doing That little Bit For himself But even Though Other members of The Family Were Around to help They Live Away from Home Only A few Miles up the road. But we could Call on them at anytime Day or Night and That Meant it was up to mainly myself, Mother And Brother who had to be there for Him at bedtime. To get him undressed wash his back put his cream on give him his tablets and I myself would give him a shave ever other day. This took a couple of hours. Sometimes and was really degrading for him as a person in a sense. An Even though he was prepared for his bed time routine it didn’t stop there. As he had a bell for Emergencies he could ring it during the night and yes he did ring it more than once I must add in one night. It was me on nigh time duty as my Brother was working. And just as I got into Bed myself you could guarantee it would ring. But it never bothered me as after a while it was normality to me. But I did think sometimes he knew exactly when I was getting into bed Myself and mum was Mainly Putting cream on his back because as he had Kidney problems his Back use to itch quite a lot during the night Which is Mainly what he used his bell for. Or if he didn’t want cream on it was to sit Him in his Arm Chair. And We Had a special lift for that witch needed two people so it was mainly me and mum that did that at night and my brother used to take over when he Came home From Work during the day. Then I and my brother would take over lifting him up in bed during the day as he did Spend all time in bed during the last year of his life unfortunately. And helping To care for my father has Taught me so much as to look after and care for your family in the best way that you can, I just think of it this way My parents were here to help us when we were small I just think its nice to give back to them in there Hour of need
